2009 NCAA DII National Champions

After four years of coming close to the final trophy the GVSU women's soccer team reached their ultimate goal of being crowned the 2009 DII National Champions after beating California State Dominguez Hills 1-0 in the final game. This game capped off an unbeaten season for GVSU and sent the seniors off with an unbelievable record of 84-4-6. Along with this team accomplishment, senior forward Irie Dennis was named the NSCAA DII Player of the year and two players, Jenna Wenglinski and Kristen Eible were named tournament defensive and offensive players of the Final Four tournament.
